Terms of use
The terms that apply when you use the RoboGuru website and the RoboGuru for WeDo 2.0 app, including purchases, licences and liability.
Last updated
These terms apply to the website roboguru.app and to the RoboGuru for WeDo 2.0 app (“the app”). The website and the app are provided by [Company name – set in site.ts] (“we”, “us”). Our full contact details are in the imprint.
Acceptance
By using the website or the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them. If you use the app on behalf of a school or another organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.
Buying the app
The app is sold through the Apple App Store (RoboGuru for WeDo 2.0 on the App Store) and Google Play ([Google Play link – set in site.ts]).
When you buy the app in a store, the store is the seller and its terms govern the purchase, payment, family sharing and refunds. Please request refunds from the store you bought from:
- Apple: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple
- Google Play: Learn about refunds on Google Play
Prices are set per country in each store and can change. Statutory rights you have as a consumer, for example the right of withdrawal in the EU as implemented by the stores, are not affected.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, within the usage rules of the store you obtained it from (for example Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement or the Google Play Terms of Service). Family sharing works as far as the store allows it.
Schools and organisations: licences are per device or per managed user as provided by the store’s volume purchase programme, such as Apple School Manager or Apple Business Manager (volume purchase) and Managed Google Play. Buy one licence for each device or user the app is assigned to. For other arrangements, such as an invoice for many devices, contact us at [Contact email – set in site.ts].
You may not copy, resell, rent or sublicense the app, or decompile or reverse-engineer it, except where the law expressly allows it (for example, for interoperability under EU law).
Acceptable use
Use the website and the app only lawfully and as intended. In particular, do not:
- try to break into, overload or disrupt the website, its servers or the app,
- use automated means to download the website in a way that harms its operation,
- use the app or the website to harm others, or
- remove copyright, trademark or other notices.
Intellectual property and trademarks
The app, its code, design and texts, and the contents of this website belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright. Programs and projects you create with the app belong to you.
LEGO®, the LEGO logo, WeDo® and the brick and knob configurations are trademarks of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorise or endorse this website or the app. We are not affiliated with the LEGO Group. We name LEGO® WeDo 2.0 only to describe the hardware the app works with. The app contains no LEGO software, lesson material, images or building instructions, and we do not distribute any LEGO content. Other product names may be trademarks of their owners.
Availability and changes to the app
We work to keep the app compatible with current operating systems and the WeDo 2.0 Smarthub, but we cannot guarantee that it will work on every device, operating-system version or hub firmware, or that every feature stays available forever. Check the requirements on the download page before you buy.
No warranty
The website and its content are provided for general information, without warranty that they are complete, correct or always available. Apart from the statutory warranty rights described below, the app is provided “as is”.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited or excluded by contract, such as statutory warranty rights for digital products in the EU or the store’s own guarantees.
Limitation of liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under product liability law and wherever liability cannot be limited by law. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation (one whose fulfilment makes proper performance possible and on which you may rely), limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for this kind of contract. Otherwise our liability for slight negligence is excluded.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Third-party services and links
The website links to other websites, such as app stores, LEGO support pages and sources we cite. We have no control over them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. The app stores’ terms apply when you use them. Optional analytics on this website is provided by Google, as described in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the website, the app or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes do not apply retroactively to purchases you have already made.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Country – set in site.ts], excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live.
